ReplyDeleteKudos to Dr. Nibir Ghosh for giving us a chance to appreciate the ethereal artwork of Robin Lindley, Features Editor, History News Network, Seattle. In four short frames the artist has brought out the pathos of the situation that Covid- 19 has made the world face. Both ‘After’ and ‘Bystanders’ reflect the pain that haunts you in its sheer hopelessness. The hand that is being offered is the sole respite – in tragedy we are together. ‘Night words’, the third frame in the series, is the most poignant of all - it is a silent scream. The expression moves from distress, to fear, to terror of what tomorrow might bring in a matter of seconds. The fourth frame, aptly titled ‘Long Day’, impressively portrays the bleak scenario where the world has been taken hostage, and resignation is setting in. In short, a masterstroke!
